Eric is the Co-Founder of Beagle Bioproducts, along with Dr. Stephanie Smith, and already considers this accomplishment one of his career highlights. He began his career in public accounting after graduating from the University of Michigan, gaining valuable experience for working with growing companies. Eric worked initially as the Controller of, and eventually the Treasurer for an air freight company located at Detroit City Airport, which led to his being recruited into Airnet Systems, an Ohio based company that operated over 150 aircraft on a national scale. As Airnet’s CFO he was responsible for all financial reporting, human resources, as well as legal and banking relationships, with involvement in all strategic decisions as the company grew by 400%+ during his tenure. Eric helped direct Airnet’s successful $90 million+ IPO, leading to an eventual listing for the company on the New York Stock Exchange. He was the head of the Audit Committee on Airnet’s Board of Directors subsequent to this offering, in addition to being involved in all strategic planning, acquisitions and divestitures initiated by the company during his tenure.
Over the past several years he has worked with several developing companies, providing CFO services in some instances while leading corporate development efforts in others. He has led several successful equity and debt offerings, assisted in product launches, led strategic planning initiatives and managed numerous legal and banking relationships for growing businesses. Eric has been an active angel investor in the Columbus area, and sits on several boards, for both profit and non-profit organizations.
Eric is married to Carol, and they have two daughters, Michelle and Alyssa. His other interests include spending as much time as possible in Northern Michigan, golf, tennis, reading and being a passionate fan of all sports, especially college football.
